Privacy policy

inphner is a speedcubing timer that runs in your browser. I don't run accounts, ads or analytics, and I don't collect anything about you. This page explains what is stored and where.

Last updated 26 October 2026.

What stays in your browser

Your sessions, solves, scrambles, comments, trainer progress and settings are saved in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB and localStorage) on your device. They aren't sent anywhere. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them, and so does Settings → Data → Erase everything.

The microphone (for a Stackmat timer) and Bluetooth (for a smart cube) are only used if you turn them on, and only on your device. The audio and cube moves are never recorded or uploaded. A smart cube's solution is saved with the solve, in your browser.

Loading the site

inphner is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub sees the requests your browser makes to load the site, including your IP address, under GitHub's privacy statement. The site loads no third-party scripts, fonts, trackers or cookies. If you set a custom wallpaper from a web address, your browser loads that image from the site you named.

Google Drive sync (optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google in Settings → Sync, inphner asks Google for three things:

The copy in your Drive belongs to you and lives in your Google account. I can't read it. Your browser talks to Google Drive directly.

To keep you signed in, a small service at sync.inphner.com (run on Cloudflare) exchanges Google's sign-in code for access. Google's long-lived sign-in key is encrypted and handed back to your browser. The service has no database: it stores nothing, keeps no logs of its own, and never reads your Drive. Cloudflare, which runs it, sees the requests under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

inphner's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Your Google data is used only to sync your inphner data between your own devices. It is never sold, shared, used for ads, or used to train AI models.

Stopping sync and deleting the copy

Settings → Sync → Sign out stops syncing on that device and withdraws inphner's access. Delete Drive copy removes inphner's files from your Drive. You can also remove inphner's access at any time from your Google account's connections page.

Children

inphner doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone, children included. Google sign-in is subject to Google's own age rules.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date. Questions, or anything you'd like removed: inph@inphner.com.
